Eric Dane Hospitalized After Fall Linked to His ALS Condition

Beloved Grey’s Anatomy star Eric Dane, known to millions as Dr. Mark “McSteamy” Sloan, was noticeably absent from this year’s Emmy Awards — and for a heartbreaking reason.

The actor, who publicly revealed his ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) diagnosis earlier this year, was hospitalized following a fall related to his condition, which left him needing stitches.

Dane shared the update in an interview with The Washington Post, explaining, “ALS is a nasty disease. So I was in the hospital during the Emmys getting stitches put in my head.”
