While Dane couldn’t attend, his longtime friend and former co-star Jesse Williams honored him on the red carpet, telling Entertainment Tonight, “He’s solid.
The man’s just solid. We have to be careful, you know, as men, to take care of ourselves — and he’s got a perfect balance going.”
Since announcing his diagnosis in April 2025, Dane has used his platform to raise awareness and push for progress in ALS research.
He has been actively supporting the renewal of the ACT for ALS, legislation aimed at advancing treatment and research for neurodegenerative diseases.
In late September, he traveled to Washington D.C. to meet with U.S. Representative Frank Pallone and members of the nonprofit I AM ALS to advocate for faster clinical trial access and stronger federal support.

Speaking candidly, Dane reflected on the long road to diagnosis, telling U.S. Rep. Eric Swalwell in a TikTok video, “ALS is the last thing they want to diagnose anybody with.
It takes so long to confirm, and by then, many patients are excluded from important trials.”
I feel fortunate to still be working and I’m looking forward to returning to the set of Euphoria soon.”
However, the disease continues to progress. In an emotional interview with Diane Sawyer in June, Dane revealed, “My left side is functioning, but my right side has completely stopped working. I feel like maybe in a few more months, I won’t have my left hand either. It’s sobering.”
