Life is full of tiny crossroads.
And sometimes the smallest decision —
a quiet “not today,”

a preserved boundary —
is the reason a future celebration exists.

Not because something terrible happened.
But because something unnecessary never did.

Even now, when I sit on the balcony at night, I think of that loaf of bread wrapped in gold.

Not with fear.
Not with regret.

But with gratitude.

Because that day taught me this:

It is better to be careful and misunderstood
than reckless and full of regret.

because our spirit told us to step back just in time.
