Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour the melted butter into a 9×9-inch baking dish and set aside.
In a medium bowl, combine the flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the milk until you have a smooth batter. Pour the batter over the melted butter—do not stir.
In another bowl, toss the blackberries with lemon juice and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Spoon the berries evenly over the batter. Again, do not stir; the crust will form as it bakes.
Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the fruit is bubbly around the edges. Let it cool slightly before serving.
