How To Make Kentucky Apple Cake:

  1. Step 1: Heat Things Up: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch pan thoroughly.
  2. Step 2: Eggs First: In a mixing bowl, beat the 2 eggs. Mix in the 2 tsp of cinnamon, 1/4 cup buttermilk, 2-3 tbsp of milk, and 1 tsp of real vanilla extract.
  3. Step 3: Dry Squad: Sift the 2 cups of sugar, 2 tsp of baking powder, 1/4 tsp of baking soda, and 1/8 tsp of salt. Add this dry mixture to the egg mixture.
  4. Step 4: Melt the Margarine: Melt the 2 sticks of margarine and pour it into the mixture. Combine everything well.
  5. Step 5: Introduce Flour: Slowly introduce the 2 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour to the mix and combine thoroughly.
  6. Step 6: Apple Time: Add the 3 cups of finely chopped apples, a pinch of salt, 1 tbsp of light corn syrup, and 2 cups of chopped walnuts. Give the batter a good stir.
  7. Step 7: Into the Pan: Pour the batter into your prepared pan, spread it out evenly, and bake for 45-50 minutes.
  8. Step 8: Prepare the Glaze: While the cake is baking, prepare the glaze. Melt 1/2 cup of margarine, then add 1 tsp of baking soda, 3/4 cup of sugar, and 1/4 cup of real vanilla extract. Keep stirring over low heat until the sugar is completely melted in.
  9. Step 9: Drizzle the Glaze: When your cake is done baking, drizzle that delectable glaze all over it while it’s hot.
  10. Step 10: Enjoy: Allow the cake to cool, slice it, and relish every bite.
