As terrifying as it sounds, there have been multiple reports of hidden cameras in hotel rooms and Airbnbs — often disguised as smoke detectors, alarm clocks, or USB chargers.
✅ What to Do:
- Scan the room when you arrive. Look for odd devices, small holes, or LED lights in unexpected places.
- Use your phone’s flashlight and shine it around — camera lenses reflect light.

🛏️ 4. The Bedding Might Not Be as Clean as It Looks
While sheets are usually replaced, duvets, blankets, and decorative pillows are often reused between guests — and can carry hair, skin cells, and bacteria.
✅ What to Do:
- Remove the decorative pillows and bedspread immediately.
- Ask for a clean blanket, or travel with your own lightweight sleep sack or travel sheet.
