Southern Fried Salmon Patties

**For the Salmon Patties:**
– 1 (14.75 oz) can of pink salmon, drained and flaked (remove bones and skin if desired)
– 1 egg
– ⅓ cup finely diced onion
– ¼ cup finely diced green bell pepper (optional)
– ½ cup breadcrumbs or crushed saltine crackers
– 1 tablespoon cornmeal (optional for extra crunch)
– 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
– 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
– ½ teaspoon garlic powder
– ½ teaspoon Old Bay seasoning (or paprika for a milder flavor)
– Salt and pepper to taste
– 2–4 tablespoons vegetable oil (for frying)

**Optional Garnishes:**
– Lemon wedges
– Fresh parsley
– Hot sauce or tartar sauce for dipping
