Giant Muffaletta Italian Sandwich

#### **Step 1: Prepare the Olive Salad**
The olive salad is what makes a Muffaletta stand out from the crowd! Start by chopping up your **green olives**, **Kalamata olives**, **roasted red peppers**, **artichoke hearts**, and **onion** into small pieces. Combine them in a medium-sized bowl.

Next, add the **capers**, **olive oil**, **red wine vinegar**, **oregano**, **garlic powder**, and **crushed red pepper flakes**. Stir everything together until it’s well combined. Taste it and add salt and pepper to your liking. The olive salad should have a tangy, slightly briny flavor that will soak into the bread and bring everything together.

Cover the bowl and set the salad aside to marinate for at least **30 minutes**. This allows the flavors to meld, creating a zesty and vibrant spread for the sandwich.

#### **Step 2: Assemble the Sandwich**
Slice your **Italian bread** horizontally, creating a top and bottom layer. Drizzle a little **olive oil** on the inside of both halves to keep the bread moist and add an extra layer of flavor.

Start by layering the sandwich with your **meats**. First, place a generous amount of **salami**, followed by **ham**, **mortadella**, and **pepperoni**. Be sure to cover the bread evenly so that each bite gets a perfect combination of meats.

Next, layer on the **provolone** and **mozzarella cheeses**, ensuring each layer is nice and even. The melted cheese will provide a creamy contrast to the bold flavors of the meats and olive salad.
